Design Lead

The rules for interface design focused on the next billion internet and mobile users are still being written. Established internet audiences are enjoying the fruits of the professionalisation of interaction and interface design, yet in emerging markets, the users of which carry vastly different and diverse cultural backgrounds, assumptions, priorities, and levels of technological literacy, design is too often still a cosmetic afterthought.

We believe an opportunity exists to contribute to the development of an evidence-based methodology for producing engaging, effective design for the world’s emerging markets, and as an organisation, seek to establish proven excellence in a field on the cusp of an historic explosion in demand, but currently nonetheless currently largely ignored.

We’re looking for a design lead to help us shape and achieve this vision, starting with visual and interaction design for a family of web and mobile products for healthcare, health logistics and conservation. Our design lead will work closely with our developers, users and subject matter experts to investigate and synthesize requirements and opportunities, researching, designing and building comprehensive, beautiful solutions and the processes that help us reach them.

Day to day, our design lead will translate high-level requirements into structured interactions and intuitive, functional workflows, as well as design interfaces and methodologies for navigating complex information. Superintendent Pharmacist

The Superintendent Pharmacist is a senior role responsible for all pharmaceutical supply chain operations at Field, including planning, sourcing and procurement, operations, compliance, quality control, and communications, as well as participating in the development of related software and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Management

  • Lead routine forecasting, supply planning and associated supply chain management tasks
  • Manage paper and digital records of stock on hand, stock at clients location, invoices written, support Accounting Department and be aware of receivables due and debits held, ensure KPIs and dashboards are up to date

Product Manager

Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a senior software developer to help us build a variety of logistics, business intelligence, and enterprise interop systems, with a focus on architecture and back-end development. You’ll help investigate user needs, explore data, and design complex, scalable system architecture to solve the unique, high impact problems of health delivery systems in frontier contexts.

Data Engineer / Analyst

We’re looking for a motivated data engineer / analyst to support our innovative health system support and transformation projects. You’ll help collect, investigate, model and analyse data from a variety of national health logistics systems Field develops, to produce insights which will shape our products, guide public health programs, and help transform the public health field at large.

Your job will involve exploring data from operational systems for managerial and product development insights, responding to customer requests for specific operational analytics, and investigating data quality issues alongside our program team to help identify and diagnose potential system problems and opportunities. You will be asked to develop models to support internal and external management and product development decisions, develop data management and cleaning pipelines, and collaborate with our software development team in the development of analysis tools. You will be working closely with our software, design and health program teams to provide integrated work which can create real impact at a national and international scale.

Front-end Developer

We’re looking for a front-end developer to join our team at Field Intelligence. You’ll be working with a cross-functional product team to build offline-friendly, highly performant mobile and desktop apps that aim to improve healthcare in Nigeria and beyond. 

We’re considering most levels of experience, from junior to mid-weight to senior. One of our main criteria for this position is expertise in CSS – we have some amazing senior developers in our team, but we need someone to work with them to focus on the really user-facing parts of the tech stack. We’re talking about all the things that affect user experience – faithfully executing designs in HTML and CSS, interactions, performance, usability. We are prioritising scalability and modularity in our apps, and that needs to include the front-end and UI components. We <3 people with strong opinions – your voice will be heard in this team. 

We’re also quite open to what this role actually looks like – a hybrid designer/front-end developer is as much an option as a senior javascript engineer with an interest in CSS. 

Some examples of the systems we’re working on:

  • A responsive mobile app (PWA), built for offline performance, with supportive workflows to guide users through public health logistics work
  • A dashboard interface with data visualisations/analytical tools to analyse and forecast vaccine usage throughout the country
  • A payment system to help local pharmacies stay stocked with essential medicines
  • A mobile app to guide informal transport workers (a.k.a. drivers) in delivering vaccines and other health commodities 
     

Finally, we work mainly with React and couchdb / serverless Node backend, so we’re looking for someone who can work within a javascript-centric environment to do templating and styling, test performance, collaborate in via git, and help refine our front-end practices.

Field is seeking a Financial & Administrative Director to be a mission-critical partner in  managing the rapid growth of its Nigerian headquarters. The Abuja-based role will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the leadership, operational, and technical teams to lead and develop an effective financial, human resources, and administrative functions, building and coaching an internal team, and working across the organization to ensure the organization growth is supported and sustainable.

Responsibilities

Financial Management
