Head of Product

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Product to join our team at Shelf Life.

As the Head of Product, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our product offerings and driving the success of our company. You will be responsible for leading a team of product managers and designers to envision, articulate and implement technology which transforms health supply chains across Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesise Field's organisational, business, growth, and operational priorities and support them with high impact, product initiatives
  • Work with designers and engineers to craft detailed product briefs, and work with product managers and technical teams to guide their implementation
  • Facilitate cross-functional exercises in product prioritisation, solution design and risk assessment
  • Develop and manage product development, monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Conduct market and operational research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for, and risks to Field's product portfolio
  • Monitor product performance and KPIs, analyze data, and iterate on product features to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain product documentation, including user stories, specifications, and release plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Proven track record of 5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Deep understanding of and experience in supply chain management, optimally with a focus on healthcare delivery
  • Extensive professional experience working in software product development, for products with extensive deployments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product plans
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to clearly articulate complex concepts with a variety of stakeholders. A portfolio of documented product initiatives will be requested
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching and supporting the development of junior team members
  • This job requires traveling to Kenya and Nigeria
